Polymers Filler

Market

Lighter and stronger polymer materials have a huge demand coming from the automotive, marine, aerospace and defence industries, from lighter and stronger mechanical parts or individual protective equipment to conductive antistatic polymers. To produce these amazing materials graphene is used a polymer filler.

Solution

Graphene nanoplatelets are used to enhance the mechanical properties of polymers by taking advantage of its aspect ratio, as well as of its intrinsic mechanical strength. Either extruding or melt-compounding, a small volume fraction of graphene nanoplatelets on the formulation can represent a great change on the performance of the final graphene-loaded material, such as tensile and storage modules and electrical conductivity.

Advantages of Graphene Application

Conductivity:

Graphene is a great conductor of electricity and heat due to its nanometric thickness allowing electrons and heat move up to 200x faster

Strength:

Graphene is 100+ stronger than steel. You can use it to reinforce polymers or fiberglass and carbon fibre.

Lightness:

Graphene is lightweight material and enables a new whole generation of high performance of lighter and stronger composites.

Transparency

As a two-dimensional material, graphene displays remarkable optical properties, including a simple transparency for visible light.

Thin

Graphene is an allotrope of carbon consisting of a small number of layers of carbon atoms arranged in an hexagonal lattice. Each layer is separated from another only by 0.33 nanometers.

Hydrophobicity

Graphene has excellent hydrophobicity capacity that can be used to tailoring special coatings in marine, aerospace, automotive markets.
